RunningCat stays local.
RunningCat is a small macOS menu bar app. It animates a cat, stores your preferences locally, and uses macOS power assertions when you turn on Keep Awake.
App data
RunningCat does not collect, store, or transmit personal information. The app does not use analytics, advertising SDKs, user accounts, or third-party tracking services.
Local preferences
The app stores a small set of preferences on your Mac: animation speed, launch at login, default Keep Awake duration, and whether Keep Display On should be used. These settings stay on your device.
Keep Awake
Keep Awake uses standard macOS power management APIs. Turning it on creates a local power assertion so the Mac does not enter normal idle sleep. If you enable Keep Display On, the app asks macOS to keep the display awake too. RunningCat does not override closed-lid sleep by itself.
Website hosting
This website is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may process standard request data needed to deliver the website, such as IP address, browser metadata, and request logs. The RunningCat website does not include custom analytics code.
